St George’s, Grenada – With five runs needed from the final ball for West Indies A to win, Ravi Rampaul smashed a four to cause a tied game in the First Digicel One Day match against Pakistan A at the Grenada National Stadium.
Rampaul walked to the crease after Nikita Miller (0) was bowled by the penultimate delivery and the Trinidadian right hander swatted a boundary to take the Windies A to 227 for 8 in response to Pakistan A's 227 for 9 from 50 overs.
Barbadian middle order batsman Kirk Edwards led the Windies run chase with an unbeaten 89 from 128 balls and he struck five fours but had to stand at the non-striker's end and watch Rampaul face the final delivery.

Anwar Ali led the bowling for the visitors, taking 3 for 36 from 10 overs while Zulfiqar Babar took 2 for 37 from 10 overs.
After losing openers Rajendra Chandrika (3) and Andre Fletcher (15) to leave the score on 23 for 2, Edwards and Kieran Powell put on 85 for the third wicket before Powell fell for 41 which was scored off 62 balls.
The innings stalled until captain David Bernard cracked 31 (3×4, 2×6) from 17 balls to bring the back on course but after he was out the Windies A lost three quick wickets (Jason Holder for 4 and Miller) before Rampaul's last ball heroics.
The home side restricted Pakistan A to 227 for 9 after openers Khurram Manzoor and Umair Khan had laid a solied foundation with a 134 run stand for the first wicket.
Manzoor made 66 from 110 deliveries while Khan made 59 from 83 balls as both struck five fours. Umer Amin added 29 but the Pakistanis lost wickets in the latter stage of the innings as the Windies bowlers applied pressure.
Rampaul was most economical, taking 2 for 28 from nine overs to support Devendra Bishoo who took the first three wickets to fall to end with 3 for 37 from 10 overs. Jason Holder took 2 for 47 from six overs.
The Second Digicel One Day match is on Thursday November 11th at the same venue.
