Gouyave, St. John, 11th February 2011, Nine (9) members of Pan Ossia Steel Orchestra of Gouyave, St. John will depart the Spice Isle on Saturday 12th February at 1.15 pm for Trinidad, where members will team up with Clico Sforzata Steel Orchestra.

Their trip to Trinidad is part of a Steel Pan Exchange Program with Trinidad & Tobago. Clico Sforzata Steel Orchestra is in the medium band category of the 2011  Trinidad panorama competition and is based in Curepe.

Today February 7th 2011 marks the 37th anniversary of our Political Independence – a vision of the late ex-Prime Minister Sir Eric Matthew Gairy, who ruled this country for 27 years and is now described and accepted as the Father of Our Independence.

CCC beat Windwards in 3 days

Bridgetown, Barbados, February 6  â€" Combined Campuses & Colleges (CCC) beat the Windward Islands by 33 runs on the third day of their first round regional Headley/Weekes first-class match against at the 3Ws Oval here today.

Set 179 to win, the Windward Islands were bowled out for 145 off 57.5 overs at 2.46 p.m.

The Windwards lost their last seven wickets for 49 runs in 26.2 overs.

Andre Fletcher topscored with 35. He batted for 114 minutes, faced 95 balls and struck four boundaries.

Leg-spinner Nkrumah Bonner was the main wrecker with five for 26 off 14.5 overs. He was named man-of-the-match.

Left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh took three for 37 off 19 overs and off-spinner Ryan Austin, two for 46 off 15 overs.
