GBN An Embarrassment To Grenada

Listening to the evening news today the Grenada Broadcasting Network owned by a Trinidadian company refers to former Prime Minister of Grenada George Brizan as a former government minister. How can someone working in the news room of our national station has no knowledge that Brizan is a former Prime Minister?

As I have always maintained that the government should reacquire the station sold by the NNP administration for a mare one million dollars EC.

This station programming has gotten increasingly worse over the years with poor news, sports and culture coverage. The station fails to provide local coverage of sporting and news events in the country.

News and sports stories are cut from the web and read as news while no coverage is given locally. The Windward Islands Cricket championship is currently held in Grenada and the station provides no coverage of the event. Not even a score in the major newscasts of the day.

At one time Grenada was the Mecca of radio broadcasters; Leslie Seon, Jerry Romain, Bernard Graham, Paul Roberts, Lew Smith and many more. Today we are the laughing stock of the Caribbean. The station need to utilize the many experience veterans to train the young staff.
